Senior Doctor Attacked During Patrol at GTB Hospital, Attacker Claims to Be Delhi Police ASI
New Delhi: Tension escalated at GTB Hospital on Friday night after unidentified individuals attacked senior doctor Dr. Kuldeep Kumar during a routine patrol by the Resident Welfare Association (RWA). The doctor sustained a head injury in the incident.
Dr. Kuldeep Kumar stated that the patrols have been conducted regularly following recent incidents of molestation and even a murder within the campus. The RWA team is taking proactive steps to ensure student safety.
During the patrol, a group of unidentified individuals approached the team and began hurling abuses and assaulting them without provocation. One of the assailants identified himself as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Delhi Police but declined to produce any identification when requested.
Police arrived at the scene following the report. A formal complaint has been filed by the doctor. The hospital administration has announced that a meeting will be held with senior officials to decide on further action. The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of students and staff within the hospital campus.
