Dr. Rajeev Bindal to Become Himachal BJP President for the Third Time
The Bharatiya Janata Party has once again shown faith in Dr. Rajeev Bindal by deciding to appoint him as the president of the Himachal Pradesh BJP for the third time. Monday saw proceedings unfold at the BJP's Himachal Pradesh headquarters, 'Deepkamal', in Shimla, Dr. Bindal was the sole candidate to file a nomination for the post.
His nomination was proposed in three separate sets by Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, MP Anurag Thakur, and former minister Govind Thakur — representing BJP MLAs, MPs & former presidents, and state office bearers respectively. The official announcement of his appointment will be made on Tuesday at 11 AM at Hotel Peterhof by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and BJP National Vice President Saudan Singh.
Along with this, eight leaders have been selected as ex-officio members of the BJP National Council. The list features prominent names such as Jairam Thakur, Anurag Thakur, Suresh Kashyap, Kangana Ranaut, and Indu Goswami, Dr. Sikander Kumar, Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj, and Harsh Mahajan.
Additionally, eight leaders have been unanimously elected as members of the National Council after filing nominations for eight available seats. They are: Govind Thakur, General Secretaries Bihari Lal Sharma and Trilok Kapoor, Pawan Kajal, Rashmidhar Sood, Payal Vaidya, Dr. Rajeev Saizal, and Sanjeev Katwal.
