A 120 kg statue of Lord Shri Ram will be installed at the Raj Bhavan in Shimla. Artisan Gaurav Anand from Chamba prepared this statue on order from Raj Bhavan Shimla. It took the artisan three months to complete the statue. When Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla saw the statue, he was overjoyed. He honored Anand with a cap and shawl. Gaurav credited his achievement to his parents, family, fellow artisans, and the residents of the district.
Gaurav Anand stated that creating the statue of Shri Ram cost approximately three lakh rupees. The artisan mentioned that his small shop is located near the Lakshminath Temple. Besides him, Suresh, Vijay, and Bhola also contributed to making the statue. The central government is also encouraging the promotion of metal crafts. Metal artisans work day and night to elevate the Chamba Thal to new heights.
He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been presented with a Chamba Thal. Gaurav, who has been making sculptures for the past 20 years, said that this is his ancestral work and he has been doing it for many years. However, this work requires a lot of effort. Making this, including sculptures, involves a lot of hard work. This thal is given as a gift during weddings, retirements, and other such events. He receives orders for Chamba Thal from all over the country and abroad.
