IPL 2025: RCB to Give ₹10 Lakh to Families of the Deceased, Set Up Relief Fund for Injured Fans

A deadly stampede near Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday claimed 11 lives and injured over 50 fans. The incident occurred as thousands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) supporters gathered to celebrate the team’s maiden IPL title victory.
In an official statement issued on Thursday, the RCB franchise declared that it will provide ₹10 lakh as financial assistance to each family of the deceased. The team also announced the creation of a dedicated relief initiative, named ‘RCB Cares’, aimed at offering support and medical aid to those injured in the tragic incident.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss. Our thoughts are with the families, and we are committed to providing all necessary support," the franchise said in its statement.
The unfortunate incident happened after the team was honored at the Vidhana Soudha and was en route to the stadium for a victory parade. However, due to the lack of proper crowd control and security measures, the situation turned chaotic as fans tried desperately to enter the stadium premises by climbing trees, walls, and vehicles.
