Chamba: MLA Dr. Janak Raj Sits on Ground at ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ Event, Warns Officials
During the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ program held in Chamba, MLA Dr. Janak Raj staged a symbolic protest by sitting on the ground with the public after arriving at the event around 1 pm.
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal approached him to request that he take a seat on the stage, but he initially refused. Later, District Market Chairman Lalit Thakur escorted him to the stage. Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania also urged him to take his seat, after which he agreed.
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Janak Raj criticized certain officials for allegedly ignoring elected representatives. He warned that in a democracy, the voices of public representatives and citizens must be respected. He further stated that he would raise the issue in the Assembly if necessary.
