CM Sukhu inaugurates Three-Tesla MRI at IGMC Shimla, targets BJP
Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday inaugurated a new Three-Tesla MRI machine at IGMC Shimla. He announced that within the next year, high-end machines similar to AIIMS Delhi will be installed at IGMC Shimla, Chamyana, Nerchowk, Hamirpur, and Tanda Medical Colleges.
The CM said that the 20-year-old MRI machine at IGMC has been replaced as part of the government’s initiative to provide state-of-the-art medical facilities to the common man. This will reduce the need for patients from Himachal to travel to PGI or private hospitals for treatment.
Targeting the previous BJP government, Sukhu claimed that doctors in the Radiology Department reported old machines at IGMC and KNH were not replaced, and the earlier government prioritized personal gains over public welfare.
Commenting on the recent dispute between Delhi and Himachal police, the CM stated that any action should be communicated to Himachal police beforehand. During his visit, he also inquired about the health of MLA and 7th State Finance Commission Chairman Nand Lal and wished him a speedy recovery.
