The appointment of 1,841 JOA IT positions in Himachal Pradesh will proceed only after approval from the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister's office has issued instructions to all administrative secretaries and department heads in the state regarding this matter. Recently, the State Selection Commission released the results for Post Code 817. Rakesh Kanwar, Secretary to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has sent a letter to 73 departments, instructing them to seek approval before issuing appointments.
The Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission in Hamirpur has published the list of selected candidates for the Junior Office Assistant (IT) Post Code 817. The selected candidates have been allocated to various departments. The state government has issued recommendation letters to 73 departments, corporations, and boards to proceed with these appointments. The Commission has forwarded the online recruitment forms and required qualification certificates of the selected candidates to the relevant departments, boards, and corporations. The next step is for these entities to issue appointment letters. The Chief Minister's office has mandated that all related departments must obtain the Chief Minister's approval before issuing these appointment letters.
Candidates had been waiting for four years for the result of JOA IT Post Code 817. The 1,867 positions were advertised back in 2020, and the matter even reached the High Court and Supreme Court. Approval to announce the results was granted during a cabinet meeting last month. A total of 1.70 lakh candidates took the exam, approximately 19,000 passed, and around 5,600 candidates cleared the typing test.
The allocation includes 696 posts for General Unreserved, 261 for General EWS, 24 for General Ward of Freedom Fighter, 304 for OBC Unreserved, 62 for OBC BPL, 24 for OBC Ward of Freedom Fighter, 352 for SC Unreserved, 54 for SC BPL, 13 for SC Ward of Freedom Fighter, 1 for SC Ward of Ex-Serviceman, 70 for ST Unreserved, 18 for ST BPL, and 1 for ST Ward of Freedom Fighter.
